Baby's Room is an escape from the rulez and obligations of the outside world. Our space was created by (surprise!).. Baby. They were motivated to create the space after going to a modern art museum in LA,  where they found it difficult to really enjoy art because the security was always lingering and berating them every time they attempted to take a looksie at one of the art works. They instantly decided they wanted to create an immersive space where interaction from the audience is a part of the art itself.  Additionally Baby had many experiences in the LA  nightlife scene where they lived through and witnessed many instances of antiblackness, bigotry and violent behavior from the security at almost every club or venue. Baby, being DIY asf, decided they would open up a space where others can come and appreciate art whether visual or musical or anything in between. Baby's Room is a place to celebrate, learn, create, play, or even simply just hang out. They didn't know how, but just knew it's something they had to do one day. Our space, while still in its humble beginnings, is intended to be something much bigger than Baby or even the space itself, It is a precedent for a culture that views art, integrity, storytelling and community with the high regard that is rightfully deserved.
